Naturopathic medicine is a distinct primary health care system that blends modern scientific knowledge with traditional and natural forms of medicine. The naturopathic philosophy is to stimulate the healing power of the body and treat the underlying cause of disease. Symptoms of disease are seen as warning signals of improper functioning of the body, and unfavourable lifestyle habits. Naturopathic Medicine emphasizes disease as a process rather than as an entity.

In addition to diet and lifestyle changes, natural therapies including botanical medicine, clinical nutrition, hydrotherapy, homeopathy, naturopathic manipulation and traditional Chinese medicine/acupuncture, may also be used during treatments.

In Canada, the naturopathic medical profession’s infrastructure includes accredited naturopathic medical programs, standardized North American Board Exams (NPLEX) and jurisdictional exams, national standards of practice and, regulation in five provinces to date.

Meet Lindsay, a Registered Acupuncturist and graduate of the globally recognized Pacific Rim College in Victoria, BC. She is registered and in good standing with the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of British Columbia (CTCMA).

It was during her exploration of the outdoors in her early 20s and over a decade spent working in the service industry that Lindsay’s interest in the human experience was ignited. She developed a belief in the beautiful uniqueness of each individual and their distinctive life path. No one-size-fits-all here. Initially studying Holistic Nutrition, she found herself fascinated by other healing modalities including Reiki and Ayurvedic Medicine, before finally discovering Traditional Chinese Medicine. With its perspective on life as a tapestry of patterns and imbalances, it deeply resonated with her. Lindsay believes in providing patients with the tools and information needed to engage closely with every aspect of their healing journey —mind, body, soul —for achieving optimal health and well-being.

Taking an integrative approach to healing, Lindsay combines acupuncture, cupping, dietary guidance, and lifestyle advice. Her focus extends beyond relieving symptoms to fostering long-term balance and vitality. In the clinic, Lindsay adopts a trauma-informed approach, prioritizing the creation of a safe space where patient voices are valued.

As a practitioner, she has a particular interest in skin rejuvenation acupuncture, mental-emotional health, musculoskeletal/pain conditions, gastrointestinal-digestive disorders, and women’s health. Lindsay continuously enhances her education by regularly attending workshops and online courses.

Outside the clinic, Lindsay indulges in her passions for rock collecting, exploring the backcountry through hiking, sharing homecooked meals with friends, and immersing herself in the beauty of the natural world.
